From all of us at ICE we wish them all the best for their lives together.

ICE Race Trainer Alain Baxter opens a specialist boot-fitting shop in Stirling

A word from Alain on the new shop:

"Having skied for 35 years, 18 of which as part of the British Ski Team, Iíve had my fair share of sore feet Ė as it was only during my later years on the team I discovered I didnít have to sacrifice comfort for performance, and how much difference a pair of well fitted ski boots can make!

Now retired for 2 seasons, Iíve found my new calling and have just opened my own Ski and Snow Sports Workshop in Stirling, where as well as providing Boot Fitting services we stock a range of clothing as well as hats, helmets, glasses and ski tuning equipment."

For a first class service, there is nobody better to speak to in the northern half of
the UK, please visit for more information.

Here are some examples of the great deals on offer:

Salomon Enduro XT 800

Construction Highlights:
All Terrain Rocker/Sandwich Sidewalls/Full Woodcore

Sidecut: 125-79-107

Lengths available:
154, 161, 168, 175, 182

40% off to ICE members

This really is the perfect ski for our course. This completely new design has the power to punch out real carving performance on the piste. Take the 800 into short or long turns and itís reactive, grippy and will hold in any conditions. The icing on the cake, is that this new shape has rocker through the nose. This lifting of the front of the ski ensures no catching or grabbing on the initiation of the turn and gives a powerful piste ski a truly phenomenal ability when getting into deeper snow. So, the result is that the Enduro can deliver in spades, whether itís on the hardpack or in the powder.

Salomon Mustang

Construction Highlights:
3D Race Frame/ Full woodcore Race/Double Ti Laminate

Sidecut: 119-72-103

Lengths available:

40% off to ICE members

A lot of the ICE coaches will be using this ski for the coming winter. The new Mustang takes a lot of its construction from the race department skis, it uses a full woodcore matched up with some titanium reinforcement. On piste this ski is a rocket, itís fast, has huge amounts of edge grip and is a very powerful ski for high performance on the piste. Itís a great tool for long fast turns on the groomers, itís also quick from edge to edge for short turns. Essentially, this is a fantastic choice for skiers who love to rip on the piste. In deeper snow, its stiffness and narrow shape make it a bit more of a handful.

Salomon Lord

Construction Highlights:
Pulse pad/Semi Twin Tip Tail/Woodcore

Sidecut: 128-87-115

Lengths available:

40% off to ICE members

The Lord continues unchanged for this winter, and for good reason. Itís been one of Salomonís most successful skis, has won multiple awards and always gets great reviews. Itís a ski which is suited for all mountain skiing, with its main strength being itís ease of use in deep snow and tricky conditions. The soft flex, nose rocker and semi twin tip tail all help towards making this ski simply effortless to use in deeper conditions. It really is a go anywhere, do anything type of ski. On the piste itís very effective, carving out smooth arcs, however for short turns on hard snow that flex and shape can make it harder work.

Women specific - Salomon Origins Bamboo

Construction Highlights:
Bamboo layer/Shock Absorbing System

Sidecut: 125-78-106

Lengths available:

40% off to ICE members

The Bamboo has all of Salomonís technical expertise packed into this beautiful ski. It uses a Bamboo layer which helps to make it easy to use while giving a snappy response. Match this to its forgiving rounded tail and you have a ski which is exceptionally easy to use while giving out strong performance. On both long and short turns it is grippy fast, and quick on the edge, however it never loses that inherent forgiveness in its performance. Itís a ski that always feels on your side, being there to help you rather than something you are constantly battling with. In deeper conditions that softer flex and wider platform allow it to cope well.
